Brunswick Heads, NSW
Brunswick Heads offers many water activities such as surfing, yabbying, fishing, boating and kayaking, as well as the award-winning eco-certified Brunswick River Cruises. It’s a great place for whale watching, and dolphins are sighted regularly as well. The river, beaches, playgrounds, and eateries are all easily accessible being only a short walk from all accommodation. This laid-back coastal village is perfect for a family trip, and you don’t even need a car to enjoy the whole town!
Cable Beach, WA
Broome’s Cable Beach is world famous, and justifiably so. It has a span of 22 kilometres and has one of the best ocean sunsets on Earth. This beach is just a short 8-minute drive or bus trip from Broome, with direct flights year-round from Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney. Be sure to enjoy one of Broome’s most historical beaches by booking in on a Camel tour!
Loch Ard Gorge, VIC
Situated only 3 minutes away from the Twelve Apostles in the Port Campbell National Park, Loch Ard Gorge is one of the most-loved stops along the Great Ocean Road. Not only are you within the area to visit the Twelve Apostles, there are several sights to visit – you can simply sunbake on the sandy shore or explore the Wreck of the Loch Ard, the Thunder Cave, the Mutton Bird Island Lookout, and more. If you’re short on time, you can still make the trip worthwhile with the 900 metre Geology Walk!
Port Noarlunga, SA
One of the most iconic diving destinations in the state of South Australia, the red sandstone beach cliffs, long jetty and reef makes it the ultimate picturesque seaside village for swimming, kayaking, and snorkelling. The reef is home to more than 200 species of marine plants and can be explored by the self-guided Aquatic Trail for divers. The safe swimming beach of Port Noarlunga also forms part of Australia’s first Mid Coast regional surfing reserve.
Tangalooma, QLD
Dubbed as the “Jewel of Moreton Bay”, Tangalooma has a pristine beach, rolling sand dunes and aqua coastline. Tangalooma is filled with exciting activities both on land and in the water! Every night from 6PM, visitors can line up at the beach for a once in a lifetime chance to hand feed a wild bottlenose dolphin – and don’t worry, the resort staff runs a conservation program to ensure the health of the dolphins! Also, remember to check out the Tangalooma wrecks with a sea scooter before you leave.
